Red Hot Sassy Rubber Artists

…a little of this, a little of that…but mostly sharing stamping ideas

Happy Spring (so it’s a little early)

February22

I seem to gravitate toward brighter colors (and it seems they are the SAME colors). Bright turquoise and lime green are a favorite color combo of mine. On a white card base these colors just pop.

The TAC Seasonal Icons stamp set has two stamps that beg to be punched-out (and I’m not talking pugilistically). Once I had trimmed and mounted the rubber (trimming out the centers), I went through my square and circle punches to figure out which would punch the center and leave the inside border intact. The circle stamp can be used with the 1-1/2-inch Marvy Uchida Extra Jumbo Punch (the yellow one). The square stamp can be used with the 1-3/8-inch Marvy Uchida Super Jumbo Punch (the blue one). The Marvy Uchida punches have one drawback…they do not have a very big depth. When you use these punches, you must design your use so that you punch close to the edge of your paper. Because of that drawback, I created a little template that I keep with my stamp set, so that I know how close to the edge I need to stamp the square or circle images and still be able to use the punches. Here’s a photo of my square stamp and the accompanying template.
