One of the more eye-catching stamping techniques is embossed resist. There are many looks from the basic technique but one of my favorites is to use white embossing powder – the white really makes the surrounding colors pop. A subtle touch is to deepen the contrasting color around the embossed image by sponging in the same or slightly darker color than the cardstock. Here I’ve used SU Brocade Blue ink sponged around the daisies on the SU Bashful Blue cardstock. The sentiment panel was first stamped with the daisies in white ink (stamped off) and then the sentiment overstamped using the Brocade Blue. The sentiment matting layer was freehand trimmed (I call it ‘swooping’ – swoop a curve using the scissors and don’t worry about matchy-matchy the sentiment layer). My June Operation Write Home box is filling up quite nicely.
