One of our family traditions after Thanksgiving dinner is to pull out all the sales flyers and plot our Black Friday shopping expeditions. We figure out what we want to buy, what store opens first, and the quickest route to accomplish the list. Sometimes DH, DS, or DDIL is a warm body in line while several other stores are first visited. It is definitely a big operation and looked forward to each year, especially by me and my DS. Which is why I absolutely LOVED the new Copic/Promarker challenge at The Outlawz - shopping.
This sweet Anya image was colored using Copics but I paper pieced her shopping bags. The reds from the retired SU Bella Flora patterned paper collection seemed a good match to the Rs of Miss Anya’s hairbow and shirt. I intended the scalloped edges of the card to complement the curls of her hair. I used Ws to create a little pebbled grounding so Miss Anya didn’t float on the card. I look at this card and it makes me grin.
This card qualifies for:

This card is SO CUTE, and so appropriate. It makes me grin too! i love the coloring, and especially love the scalloped edges. you have such a flair for putting things together.
Cute card, KellyRae! You’ve colored her beautifully, and I giggled at your sentiment
I stay home on Black Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! Our shopping list is so small that it’s just not worth it. However…..when we took DS to the airport, I stopped and shopped at the store in the city where I get my scor-tape, as I was nearly out. That just can’t happen, you know? Have a good weekend!
How cute is that? Love little Anya, and the cute scalloped papers. And that sentiment–just perfect.
